Maureen Swiertz.
Design Director. User Interface (UI) & Experience (UX) Designer.
Problem solver and solution provider. I enjoy being challenged to create the best possible online experiences for users and believe that each should be visually attractive, friction-less and delightful.
Currently, I am the Senior Interactive Designer at Wiley Education Services, where I am responsible for concept design & web strategy, UI concepting, experience design, prototype development, as well as online + print marketing for both partner and internal initiatives. I am an expert in both understanding client branding as well as developing new branding (I played a lead role in developing the brand guide for WES).
I have experience at both start-ups as well global enterprises designing websites, software and landing pages for top-tier online schools including Purdue and Georgetown; and for clients such as Vienna Beef, Mars Candy Co., and Sanfillppo/Fisher Nuts. I also designed and did front-end development for the world’s largest law firms.
No matter the size of the project, I believe in creating the optimal experience/asset/design straight out of the gate. I take into consideration all of the learns from both the client as well as user research findings to deliver the best solution. I believe in putting the user first throughout every step of the design process. I’ve developed personas and empathy maps, built out user flows for new sites/software, as well as created lo-fi/hi-fi wireframes and interactive prototypes. I truly enjoy what I do and don’t believe in just getting it done, I believe in getting it right.
